## The Slanted Facade and Glass French Doors
The single roof falls from right to left instead of front to back, so the front reads as a bold trapezoid that is low on the left and tall on the right. A pair of 60 x 80 in glass French doors and a tall 30 x 60 in window sit under a natural cedar belly band at head height, and all the rain runs to one gutter on the left, away from the entry.
## Floor Plan of the 16x12 Backyard Office
The 192 sq ft room has the French doors and the tall window on the front and a 60 x 40 in sliding window over the desk in the tall right wall. The left wall is 7' 8-3/4" tall and the right wall is 10' 4-3/16", so the ceiling rises from about 7' 9" at the reading corner to 10' 4" over the desk. The room fits a 57 in desk, a tall bookcase and a reading corner, and both door leaves still swing clear.

## File Format, Paper Size and Units
The plan is a 49-page PDF sized for US Letter paper. All dimensions are in imperial units (feet and inches), and lumber is named by nominal size and drawn at actual size; the master cut list also gives millimetres for reference. You can print the pages or read them on a tablet or laptop at the build site.
## Who This DIY Studio Shed Is For
This plan is rated Intermediate. Two people can build most of it, with a third helper to raise the tall right wall and set the 18 ft rafters, in about 4 to 5 weekends. Spring is a popular time to start, so many builders buy the plan and order the French doors and windows over the winter.

## Frequently Asked Questions
### How do I download the PDF after purchase?
After checkout, you can download the PDF from the download link on your order confirmation page and in your confirmation email. The download is instant, and nothing is shipped.
### Is a black shed a good idea?
Yes, a black shed with natural cedar trim gives a modern, high-contrast look, and this plan paints the board and batten matte black. Use a quality exterior acrylic and repaint the black every 7 to 10 years.
### Why does the roof of this shed slope to the side?
A side-sloping roof turns the front into a striking trapezoid and keeps the tall wall and its desk window on one side. It also sends all the water to one gutter, away from the French doors.
### Can I paint this board and batten shed another color?
Yes, deep green, charcoal or white with the cedar trim all work. Keep the battens the same color as the panels for the classic board and batten look.
### Can I use asphalt shingles on this shed?
No, a 2/12 pitch is too flat for shingles. Use standing seam as drawn or another metal or membrane roof rated for 2/12.
