## Rustic Log Siding Shed with a Cedar Shake Roof

D-log siding on all four walls gives this storage shed the look of a log cabin, while the framing stays simple 2x4 studs. The single-slope roof is high at the front, with exposed rafter tails over the doors and hand-split cedar shakes on a tongue-and-groove pine deck. Pine-tree shutters, flower boxes and chevron double doors finish the cabin look.

The plan uses no plywood: the floor is solid 2x6 tongue-and-groove planks and the roof deck is 1x6 tongue-and-groove boards. The framing is sized for about 30 psf roof snow; in heavier snow areas, have a local professional check the header and rafters.

## Riding Mower Shed with a Ramp, Shelving and Tool Wall

A 6 ft wide ramp leads through the 72" door opening, so a riding mower, wheelbarrow or bikes roll straight in. Inside, three 8 ft shelves line the right wall and a garden tool wall with hardwood pegs holds rakes, shovels and hoses.

## File Format, Paper Size and Units

The plan is a 53-page PDF on US Letter paper with imperial measurements, with lengths given in actual inches to 1/16". You can print it or read it on a tablet or computer.

## Who These DIY Log Cabin Shed Plans Are For

These DIY log cabin shed plans suit builders with intermediate skills who can use a circular saw, miter saw and drill. Raising the 20 ft walls, setting the 15 ft rafters and the roof work need helpers, and the front wall is best raised by three people.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### How much will it cost to build a 12x20 shed?

The cost to build this 12x20 shed depends on local prices for log siding, cedar shakes and lumber. The plan's shopping list gives every board and hardware quantity, so you can price the full build before you start.

### How many 2x4s for a 12x20 shed?

This 12x20 shed needs 53 stud-grade 2x4s and 6 pressure-treated 2x4s in 8 to 16 ft lengths, as listed on the shopping list.

### What size shed do I need for a riding mower?

This 20x12 riding mower shed has 233" x 137" of floor inside and a 72" wide door opening with a 6 ft ramp, so a riding mower drives straight in. Measure your mower's width and length before you build to confirm it fits.

### Do I need a permit for a 12x20 shed?

A 240 sq ft shed like this 12x20 log cabin shed needs a permit in most places. Check your local zoning, HOA rules, setbacks and height limits before you build, since this shed is about 12' 5" tall at the front eave.

### How do I download the PDF after purchase?

You can download the PDF right after purchase from the download link on your order confirmation page and in your confirmation email. Nothing is shipped, and you can save the file to print or read on any device.
