## What's Included in These Modern Greenhouse Plans

These 8x10 greenhouse plans take you from the gravel pad to the potting bench. Each step page shows new parts in orange, labels every part with a Part ID and ends with its own cut list.

- Overview and specifications with front, side and floor plan drawings
- Tools, lumber sizes, fasteners and a guide to the 3/12 slope

## Slant Roof Greenhouse Design

The single slope shed roof falls 3" for every 12" toward the back, so every angled cut in the build is 14 degrees. Six 2x6 cedar rafters at 24" on center carry the roof, which overhangs 12" at the front and 6" at the back.

- Front wall: 96" tall and clear above a 24" knee wall, with a clear transom over the door
- Back wall: 72-7/8" tall, with headroom from 8' 1-1/8" at the front to 6' 2-7/8" at the back
- Frame: pressure-treated 2x4 framing in a cedar tone on 4x4 base timbers
- Knee walls: horizontal sage-green 1x4 slats, 24" high
- Glazing: 8 mm twin-wall polycarbonate with black aluminum profiles

## Dutch Door, Clerestory Vents and Potting Bench

- Dutch door: upper and lower leaves open separately, the lower leaf has a 1x6 shelf, 38" x 82-1/2" opening
- Ventilation: two hinged clerestory vents high in the side walls with automatic openers, plus screened eave vents at the front and back
- Potting bench: 94" long and 27" deep with a lower shelf along the back wall, top 34" high
- Floor: pea gravel over a tamped gravel pad

## File Format, Paper Size and Units

## Frequently Asked Questions

### How do I download the PDF after purchase?

You can download the PDF right after checkout from the download link on the order confirmation page and in your confirmation email. Save it to your device so you can print or open it any time.

### How big is an 8x10 greenhouse?

This 8x10 greenhouse has a 10' x 8' base, or 80 sq ft, with a 96" tall front wall and a 72-7/8" back wall. The roof adds a 12" front and 6" back overhang.

### How do you build an 8x10 greenhouse?

To build this 8x10 greenhouse you level a gravel pad, set a 4x4 base, frame the walls and rafters, then add the polycarbonate panels, vents and Dutch door. The plan breaks this into 17 illustrated steps with a cut list on every step page.

### Why are greenhouse roofs slanted?

A slanted greenhouse roof sheds rain and snow and lets a tall front wall face the sun. On this greenhouse the roof slopes down to the back at 3/12 (14 degrees), and the plan suggests facing the tall front south.

### What is a Dutch door on a greenhouse?

A Dutch door on a greenhouse is split into an upper and a lower leaf that open separately, so you can let air in while the lower half stays closed. On this plan the lower leaf also carries a 1x6 shelf.
