## What's Included in This Gable Barn Pavilion Plan

This 20x32 gable barn puts one long 9/12 roof over two spaces: an open timber porch at the front and a one-room garden studio at the back. The porch is framed with six 6x6 posts, built-up beams and knee braces, and the exposed king-post trusses stay visible overhead. A French door and two windows open the studio onto the covered porch.

The plan covers the whole build, from the slab to the trim:

- Floor plan with anchor bolt and post base layout
- Front, back and side elevations with all key heights
- Truss elevation and section through the porch
- Cutting templates for top chords, king posts, struts, knee braces and plywood gussets
- Wall framing drawings for the back, side and porch walls
- Shopping list grouped by material, with an estimated material budget
- Master cut list with part IDs and cut diagrams
- 16 illustrated step-by-step pages, from site layout to fascia and casings
- Finishing and care notes, plus 7 finished renderings

## One Angle for the Whole Gable Roof

The 9/12 pitch is a 3-4-5 triangle, so every angled truss cut is 36.9 degrees. All top chords are the same 165" length, and the 17 site-built king-post trusses sit at 24" on center with 12" exposed rafter tails. Ribbed steel panels run in one piece from eave to ridge.

## File Format, Paper Size and Units

The plan is a 39-page PDF sized for US Letter paper. All dimensions are imperial, in inches and feet-inches to 1/16", measured from the top of the slab. The cut list adds a millimeter column, and part IDs match every drawing and step page.

## Who This Barn Pavilion Plan Is For

This barn pavilion plan suits intermediate DIY builders working with 2 to 3 people. Expect about 7 to 9 weekends of work after the slab cures. The plan delivers a weather-tight shell; insulation, interior finishes, electrical and plumbing are up to you and your local code.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### How much does it cost to build a 20x32 barn pavilion?

The plan estimates materials for this 20x32 barn pavilion at about $16,500 to $20,500 at typical US big-box prices. Tax, delivery and regional price changes are not included.

### What are the disadvantages of a gable roof?

A gable roof has tall gable ends that catch wind, so they need solid framing and bracing. This gable roof plan includes gable truss framing and bracing steps, and a local review is recommended for high-wind or heavy-snow areas.

### Do I need a permit for a 640 sq ft barn pavilion?

A 640 sq ft barn pavilion with a finished room usually needs a building permit. Have your building department or a local engineer review the plan for your snow, wind and frost conditions.

### Can I enclose the porch of this gable barn later?

Yes, the porch beams of this gable barn sit at the same height as the wall plates, so you can frame walls between the posts later. Check your permit before you enclose it.

### How do I download the PDF after purchase?

You can download the PDF right after purchase from the link on the order confirmation page or in your confirmation email. No physical item is shipped.
