- Front and side elevations
- Shopping list and master cut list with a Part ID for every piece
- Cut diagrams and sheet layouts
- Rafter template and angled cuts
- Siding layout
- 19 illustrated step-by-step instructions

## How the Single-Slope Roof and Porch Work
One single-slope roof drops from the tall right wall to the low left wall and runs out over the porch. The porch shares the office floor frame and has 4x4 posts, 2-ply 2x8 beams and 4x4 knee braces at 45 degrees on both sides. From the front, the cedar-tone wall and porch read as a bold trapezoid.
## Floor Plan of the 12x10 Backyard Office
The 120 sq ft room has a wide sliding window and a 36 in full-lite inswing door facing the porch, plus a tall single-hung window on the right wall. The low wall is 7' 7" and the tall wall is 10' 6-1/8", so the ceiling rises toward the right side. The room fits a 56 in desk under the front window, a bookshelf on the low wall and a reading corner under the tall side.
## Construction Details of This Lean-To Office Shed
- Foundation: 4 in compacted gravel pad, 16 x 14 ft, with four 4x6 pressure-treated skids and 4 earth anchors

- Walls: 2x4 studs at 16 in on center with pressure-treated bottom plates; bearing side walls with double top plates and raked front and back walls
- Roof: 3/12 (14 degree) pitch, eight 2x8 rafters at 24 in on center with 12 in eaves, 15/32 in plywood, synthetic underlayment, ribbed metal panels and vented bird blocks
- Windows and door: a front horizontal slider, a tall single-hung window on the right wall and a 36 in full-lite prehung door
- Siding and finish: 19/32 in engineered panel siding with cedar-tone stain on the front wall and light gray paint on the other walls, 1x4 trim and 1x10 fascia and rakes in satin black

## File Format, Paper Size and Units
The plan is a 45-page PDF sized for US Letter paper. All dimensions are in imperial units (feet and inches) and actual inches rounded to 1/16 in; the master cut list also gives millimetres for reference. You can print the pages or read them on a tablet or laptop at the build site.
## Who This DIY Office Shed Is For
This plan is rated Intermediate. Two people can build most of it, with a third helper for the rafters and roof panels, in about 4 weekends. Check local codes, permits, setbacks and HOA rules before you build. Spring is a popular time to start, so many builders buy the plan and order the windows and door over the winter.

## Frequently Asked Questions
### How do I download the PDF after purchase?
After checkout, you can download the PDF from the download link on your order confirmation page and in your confirmation email. The download is instant, and nothing is shipped.
### How do you build a shed with a porch?
In this plan, the porch is built on the same floor frame as the office, then covered by the same single-slope roof on 4x4 posts, 2-ply 2x8 beams and knee braces. Steps 3, 9 and 18 show the porch frame, posts and decking.
### Can I build this office shed without the porch?
It is possible, but many parts change, including the joists, fascias, sheathing, metal panels and rake boards. Message us and we will send the changed list.
### Can I flip the roof so the low side is on the right?
Yes, build the plan as a mirror image. The door then moves to the left of the front wall, and every part keeps its length.
### Can I add a gutter to this lean-to office shed?
Yes, the whole roof drains to the low left fascia, so one 14 ft gutter and one downspout handle it.
